Great Explorations Children’s Museum to Provide Sensory-Friendly Fun at Great Connections’ Spring Fling
St. Petersburg, Fla. (April 1, 2022) — Great Explorations Children's Museum is holding an event for children with special needs and their families to enjoy Great Connections, a monthly sensory-friendly program for families in the Bay Area. Families are invited to attend the annual Great Connections’ Spring Fling celebration and take part in fun-filled spring activities such as a scavenger hunt, complimentary photos with the sensory-friendly Easter Bunny, a petting zoo from Animal House, plus museum play in a less-crowded environment. In partnership with Suncoast Credit Union and Guardian Trust, Great Connections Spring Fling will take place on Sunday, April 10th, from 4:30–6:30 p.m.
Great Explorations will modify the museum space to create a sensory-friendly environment, maximizing the fun for children of all abilities. The museum will adjust lights and sounds and provide a "cool down" room for families who need to take a break. During this time, children with special needs and their families can use this opportunity to connect with other families in the community.

Great Explorations Children’s Museum has served the children and families of the Tampa Bay area since 1987. Designed for children 10 and under, the 23,000 square foot museum is filled with exhibits and activities to stimulate learning through creativity, play, and exploration. This AAM–Accredited children’s museum also offers a national award-winning preschool, camps, field trips, and community outreach programs.
