Habitat Will Welcome Two Families to Habitat Homes Next Week

The Miller and Roldan-Lozano Families will receive the keys to their new homes in Largo.

Clearwater, FL – Habitat for Humanity of Pinellas and West Pasco Counties will welcome two families to their new homes in Largo on Tuesday, August 8th, and Wednesday, August 9th. Both homes are made possible thanks to Pinellas Community Partnerships.

Dedication Invite (5)

Tuesday, August 8th at 9:00 am, the Miller Family will earn the keys to their brand new Habitat Home. Richard and Rebekah Miller are the parents of four beautiful little girls who can't wait to fill their new house with Barbie dolls and art projects.

"Our home will be a place of love and creativity. It will be a place our children and their friends will feel safe and welcome."

Dedication Invite (6)

Wednesday, August 9th at 9:00 am, the Roldan-Lozano Family will realize the American Dream when they open the door to their new home for the first time. Edwin Roldan and his wife, Yanitza Lozano, came to the U.S. from Puerto Rico in 2015 with their three children. They faced several hardships, including not knowing where to live when they arrived. Over the last few years, they have been living in a trailer. Spanish is their primary language, and they have been able to move through Habitat's homeownership program through hard work and assistance from an interpreter.

"We will finally have a safe place of our own. A place where we will create many great memories for years and years to come for us, our children, and their future families someday."

Habitat for Humanity of Pinellas County and West Pasco Counties

Driven by the vision that everyone needs a decent place to live, Habitat for Humanity of Pinellas and West Pasco Counties has served over 800 homeowner partners since 1985. Volunteers and future homeowners construct the homes, which are sold at no profit and financed with a zero-interest loan. Habitat homeowner candidates earn 30 to 80 percent of the area median income. Candidates must demonstrate the need for adequate shelter; the ability to pay back a zero-interest loan and the willingness to partner with Habitat to complete a robust homebuyer education curriculum and invest 350 to 450 “sweat equity” hours. Mortgage monies are used to build even more homes, making each donation to Habitat a perpetual legacy to the community. Habitat believes that homeownership contributes to family stability, leading, in turn, to community stability. Additionally, the affiliate raises funds through their ReStores; home improvement outlets where donated household and building items are sold to the public. For more information about Habitat for Humanity of Pinellas and West Pasco Counties, call (727) 536-4755 or visitwww.habitatpwp.org.
