"Undiscovered America" Expands Reach with RHStv Move
From cable to connected television.
Before joining RHStv, Undiscovered America had already established itself as a distinctive travel series focused on uncovering the overlooked stories of America’s cultural landscape. Hosted by David Downing and executive produced by Will Seccombe, the show drew on his extensive experience in tourism and destination marketing to spotlight lesser-known places and the communities behind them.
Downing, who served as CEO of Visit St. Pete-Clearwater from 2014 to 2019, led the series through a three-year run on cable television. During that time, Undiscovered America developed a reputation for prioritizing authenticity; featuring local voices, exploring cultural identity and presenting destinations through a more nuanced, story-driven lens.
The transition to RHStv marks a strategic evolution for the series.
While cable provided a traditional distribution model, RHStv offers expanded accessibility through a digital-first platform. Viewers can engage with episodes on demand, removing the limitations of fixed broadcast schedules and allowing for more flexible, personalized viewing experiences.
The move also supports broader audience engagement. With integrated digital and social capabilities, RHStv enables the series to reach new viewers, encourage content sharing and build a more direct connection with its audience, an increasingly important factor in today’s media landscape.
